Growing Coffee in Nicaragua, Hacienda Sajonia
The Hacienda Sajonia farm has been owned by two English brothers, Tom and Matthew Hills since 2010. High quality coffee was already grown in this very productive area of northern Nicaragua and this farm is able to trace its roots back to 1899, but a lack of infrastructure investment and the use of old-fashioned farming methods had left the farm in need of much renovation. As such the brothers have embarked on a long term project to enhance the quality of the coffee by adopting modern agronomic practices. Furthermore, they aim to improve social and environmental conditions by modernising the farms infrastructure.
